Jake Michael is a seasoned construction professional, with over 30 years’ experience in the construction industry.
Responsible for managing and leading teams on residential and mixed-use projects of up to 105 apartments, Jake ensures all quality control measures and remedial maintenance management are carried out during the post completion stages.
Jake also focuses on preventative measures to assist the project teams with design review during pre-construction and quality control review during the pre-completion stages.
Customer care
One of the most important aspects of Jake’s role at Mono is customer care post project completion.
“Making sure there is an open line of communication with the client or end-user, and that they’re happy, is a big part of my role,” he says.
“We never want to have anyone struggling to get things fixed or having their issues last longer than absolutely necessary.”
Jake understands that construction projects require ongoing maintenance if they are going to continue to be enjoyed into the future.
“We play a significant role in the finished product of our projects and want to make sure all our end-users are happy in the places Mono builds,” he explains.
Predicting and preventing
With an extensive career as site manager for several construction companies, Jake has a deep understanding of the challenges that can arise on-site in any project.
It is because of this knowledge that he is able to predict and prevent issues from arising, or work with Mono’s team to resolve them efficiently and effectively.
“My experience is really useful in the defects stage. This is so useful because I can see issues others might not notice and rectify them before we handover,” he says.
“This isn’t just about acting with integrity and honesty, but also about minimising any issues down the track.”
Jake’s commitment to the customer has been vital in the success of so many of Mono’s projects, including the Glenmore Park apartment project and the Rockdale apartment project.
A lover of music
As a former DJ, Jake has a love of music which extends to all genres of music. When he’s not listening to or making music, Jake loves to read and spend time with his family and friends.
