Frances Khattar, HR/HSE Manager

As Human Resources (HR) and Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Manager, Frances Khattar is responsible for driving HR and HSE strategies that align with Mono’s overall business strategy.

“First and foremost, I am focused on developing and retaining the talent that we have at Mono and attracting more great talent,” Frances says.

“For me, it’s about bringing in the right people: people who embody our values and fit well in our culture.”

Frances believes that Mono’s values and culture are some of the most important drivers of employee retention, and she works to maintain an environment where Mono’s team members love coming to work.

“I am always working to create and maintain a safe place, both mentally and physically, for our people to work. By doing this, we’re encouraging our people to be their best – to grow, develop and contribute to something bigger.”

A seasoned professional

With over ten years of combined Human Resources and Work, Health and Safety experience in both construction and local government, Frances has a deep understanding of the industry.

“I have a passion for creating dynamic and positive workplaces and have found my area of interest in the construction industry,” Frances says.

“It’s wonderful to be able to work with a leadership team that thinks the same way, and who are working toward common goals.

It makes it so much easier to come to work and do the best I can when I am so aligned with the company and its values.”

This professional experience is underpinned by tertiary qualifications, including a Bachelor of Business and Commerce (Advanced Business Leadership). Frances’s specialisation in Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations adds to her strong foundation in HR policy, process and strategy.

These skills have already contributed enormously to Mono’s operations, with Frances implementing the Mono Body of Knowledge HSE Processes and driving Mono’s integrated management system certification.

A creative force

Frances is not only a talented HR professional, she is also a talented artist. Her exquisite resin art pieces are a testament to her creativity and skill.

“It started off as a hobby and just grew from there. It’s something that’s my own creative space and I really enjoy it,” she says.

When she isn’t working or creating beautiful works of art, Frances enjoys getting out into nature and appreciating the beauty of the world.
